This morning, we had another wonderful breakfast.

Then, we went back to The Indians right away while it was still early in the morning, so we could snorkel before the crowds appeared. It was a fabulous place to snorkel – lots of rocks, coral, sponges, sea fans and fish.
This is what The Indians look like above the water. We snorkeled around the four rock formations you see in this pic.

It was neat to snorkel over layers like this in the pic below – a lot of rock with things growing on top.

There are a lot of Parrotfish down here in the Virgin Islands. Here is a great picture of a super-colorful one…

Another interesting view of the underwater garden at The Indians.

Of course, there are also the ubiquitous Caribbean Blue Tangs. Here is one with a small Yellowtail Damselfish. It’s funny they are named after their tiny yellow tails instead of their neon-blue dots!

Here, there is an adult Yellowtail Damselfish. Many of their blue spots fade as they age.

Every so often we’d see these green tube sponges.

This pic has two Caribbean Blue Tangs and a small Parrotfish.

After snorkeling The Indians in the morning, we left and went to Little Harbour on Peter Island. That harbour is known for its turtles.
Before jumping in the water, we had lunch. I had seared Ahi Tuna, Jeff had sea bass.

I love the reflections above Jeff in this picture! He’s holding the sea scooter, so you can see its size relative to us.

Jeff took a pic of me, also holding a sea scooter. As you can see, we are wearing our leggings and rashguards (the long-sleeved tops). I also wear a wetsuit vest – otherwise, get cold in the water too quickly.

We set off from the boat searching for turtles! Just standing on the boat we had multiple sightings of turtles coming up to breathe. Really cool!
After swimming all over and not finding a turtle, we finally found this one right next to the boat as we were returning. LOL! Pretty wild that it had a fish along for the ride on its back!

The turtle wasn’t bothered by us hovering nearby. It just kept eating the sea grass until eventually it decided to swim away.

We saw another turtle after this, and it had two fish swimming along with it under its body. This picture of that didn’t come out very good.
Other than the turtles, there were a few nice spots to snorkel and see other sights. Here you can see an example of what it looked like. I love all the purple sea fans – they are so graceful moving back and forth with the current.

We see this little fish – a Four Eye Butterflyfish – around a lot. But they are so quick it’s very difficult to get a picture of them. Got lucky with this one, though.

This next fish (a Common Sand Diver) really blended in with the sand on the sea floor. It was just hanging out down there.

This mooring site at Little Harbour gave us a beautiful view while relaxing.

And, of course, Casey made us another fantastic meal. This time, we had lamb chops over squash, with roasted Brussels sprouts.

We stayed here overnight, moving on to Salt Island to view the sunken ship – RMS Rhone. That will be in the next article.
